The annual Cruise Hive Awards opened on October 1 and closed on December 22, with all valid votes being tabulated to determine the winners in each of the eight award categories. This award has been presented annually since 2014 and provides real, cruise fan insights into different cruise lines and experiences so that everyone can plan their perfect cruise vacation.

Nine other cruise lines were competing for the title of Best Booking Experience, with Royal Caribbean International coming in a close second with 22.84% of the votes. The third and fourth places were relatively close between Celebrity Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line, with 10.34% and 9.99% of the votes, respectively.
Holland America Line (5.60%), MSC Cruises (4.74%), Disney Cruise Line (4.67%), and Virgin Voyages (3.74%) rounded out the top five.
Despite their excellent booking systems, some cruise lines may not have received as many votes as Carnival Cruise Line because their fleets are smaller or less popular than Carnival Cruise Line. With Carnival Jubilee currently sailing her inaugural cruise from Galveston, Texas, Carnival Cruise Line now has 26 ships in its fleet.
A new category for awards
Since 2014, Cruise Hive has offered reader-driven awards, and has made adjustments along the way to reflect the best aspects of cruising that travelers enjoy most.
During its inaugural year, the Best Booking Experience award category will cover all aspects of making cruise vacation reservations, including navigating and finding ships, itineraries, and sailing dates on a cruise line’s website. An award for this category could be given based on the clarity of promotions and prices, add-on options, and communication from the cruise line regarding the booking process.
In addition to Best Cruise Line for Service and Crew, a second new category will also be introduced for the 2023 awards.
