MSC, a global cruise company that sails only from Florida and New York in the United States, has announced today that it will bring a ship to Galveston.
From November 2025, MSC Seascape – a practically brand-new ship that began sailing in late 2022 – will offer 7-night cruises to the western Caribbean and Mexico, including Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan.
“Expanding to Galveston with the magnificent MSC Seascape is a pivotal moment for us at MSC Cruises and for our guests,” said Rubén A. Rodríguez, President, MSC Cruises USA.
“Expanding our U.S. footprint makes our unique cruise experience more accessible to travelers in the central and western parts of the country and it illustrates our commitment to providing families in the region with unparalleled vacation options.”
Are kids free on cruises? How does family cruise pricing work?
It is known as a family-friendly cruise line that competes with Carnival and Royal Caribbean, providing a budget-friendly vacation as well as plenty of activities for children. The price of an interior cabin for a seven-night cruise departing from Galveston begins at only $439 per person.
Seascape features 11 dining venues, 19 bars/lounges, six swimming pools, and 19 bars/lounges. Two LEGO-branded rooms, a virtual reality flight simulator, and an F1 simulator are all dedicated to children.
At full occupancy, the ship carries more than 5,000 passengers and offers nearly 2,300 cabins.

MSC Cruises to occupy a fourth cruise terminal at Galveston?
It is not yet known where the ship will dock in Galveston, as the port has become extremely busy, with five cruise lines operating out of three terminals – Carnival, Royal Caribbean, NCL, Disney, and Princess.
Nevertheless, MSC and the port have been discussing the construction of a fourth terminal. It seems that the agreement is close to being officially announced, but it has not been announced yet. MSC’s official arrival at Galveston further reinforces the likelihood of constructing a new facility. Terminal 16 would be located between the current Terminal 25 and the new Terminal 10 of Royal Caribbean.
MSC cruises from Galveston are open for booking and begin sailing in November 2025. The cruise line’s website currently lists trips available through November 2026.
